Another awesome ride

Today went on a ride with a few of my buddies. We hit up a 5 mile loop trail, but it was wet so we went down the rode a few miles and hit up this other trail. got to the top of the hill/ mountain. Had an awesome view of pearl harbor and on the back side of the mountain had a good view of the mountains.

Today swam out to flat island and back it is about a 400m both ways. This was the first time I have ever trained in the ocean. Good swim.

My XTERRA race

Today was awesome! I woke up this morning at 4:15 to get up and get ready for my race. I get there 30 minutes before they open the gate to the check-in area. So I have 30 minutes to relaxe and watch the sun come up over the beautiful waters of Hawaii. Get checked in and set up. Get in the water ready for the swim the water is a little rough, but im ready. BANG!! we take off. Im feeling good getting kicked in the face by all the Pros passing me…Finally get in some what of a grove my training partner is right in front of me, which is good for me because he is a better swimer than me and Im keeping up, then it turns bad because the reason he I caught him is because he got stung by a jellyfish on the leg, then turns really bad when that same jellyfish stings me on my face. Which if you have never been stung it hurts really bad. Finish the, they said 750m but was really only about 400m,swim in 8:21. Get to T-1, that was the first time I had ever been stung by a jellyfish so I was having some trouble in T-1, I was really dizzy and confused, I put my jersey on backward! I get out of T-1, finally, Im moving, this race had a lot of up hill and it was hot, I finish the 10 mile bike in 57:11. Get to T-2 take off on the run I did good considering this was my first off road race, finishised the gruling 4 mile run in 35:50. Which now comes the good part I finished in 1:41:22, 2nd place in my age group, and 45 overall out of over 200 people. So I have officially earned my quialification to the Maui XTERRA world championship. Which was my goal for the year.

Hit a really good hill today.  It was so steep I had a hard time walking down it.  good training

Not good riding

This morning got up to do a morning ride, Dont get to do this very often.  started out good felt great!!  Then I got about 5 or 6 miles out and my left knee started to hurt so bad I had to turn around and come back home.  I have never had pain like this when riding before.
